Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Assault® Brand Rodenticides are safe to use around pets because there is no pass-through poisoning, there is no secondary toxicity to harm a dog that may eat a poisoned rodent.

Assault® is a neurotoxin, which acts on the brain for a quick kill. Rodents that ingest an anticoagulant are killed by internal bleeding.

Starlicide Complete® is very effective in killing starlings and blackbirds. This slow-acting avicide allows for a continuous and higher volume kill, eliminating the avoidance problem associated with fast kill avicides. Starlicide is a restricted use pesticide and restricted to use by certified applicators.

We recommend rotating rodenticides to avoid bait shyness.

  1. First use Assault® Brand rodenticide for 60 days. This will provide the fastest and largest rat elimination.
  2. Next use Rat/Mouse Arrest II® for 30 to 60 days to kill Norway rats, roof rats and Warfarin-resistant rodents.
  3. Then use Rat Control, a specially formulated warfarin base rodenticide, for 30 days.

If necessary, the process may be repeated.

Assault® All Weather Bait will withstand wind, rain and snow. This product is protected by a paraffin base and is best used in shaded areas away from direct sun during the warmer months of the year.

Assault® All Weather Bait Block

A paraffinized rodent bait that resists water, wind, snow, high humidity and sun.  May be placed in sewers and other damp environments.  Center hole for easy placement in hard to reach areas where pelleted rodenticides would likely be scattered.

Benefit:

Indoor and outdoor rodent control of both mice and rats.  Bait may be placed in wet locations or areas of high humidity.  Uses the newest and most economical rodenticide available.  Quick action, bait today and see results tomorrow.  Most palatable and with stop feed action, rodents consume 80% less bait than traditional baits.  No resistance, works where anticoagulants won’t.  There is no secondary toxicity, pets are safe if subjected to Assault® killed rodents.

Use:

Place bait where rodent presence is known or suspected.  Adjust the amount of bait applied to the level of feeding expected at each bait placement location.  Highest bait consumption is expected to occur on the first day or two after treatment.  After several days, inspect bait placements and replenish bait at sites where there is heavy feeding or where there is continued evidence of rodent activity.  Maintain bait for at least one week and continue baiting until all signs of rodent activity have ceased or it becomes clear that the remaining rodents are not attracted to the bait.  Collect and properly dispose of all dead animals and leftover bait.  To discourage reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible.  If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment.  Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.

Rats: Apply 2 to 12 baits per placement. Space placements at intervals of 20 to 30 feet.
Mice:  Apply 1 to 2 baits per placement.  Space placements at intervals of 8 to 12 feet.

Read entire label and follow all directions and use precautions.
