Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Assault® Brand Rodenticides are safe to use around pets because there is no pass-through poisoning, there is no secondary toxicity to harm a dog that may eat a poisoned rodent.
Assault® is a neurotoxin, which acts on the brain for a quick kill. Rodents that ingest an anticoagulant are killed by internal bleeding.
Starlicide Complete® is very effective in killing starlings and blackbirds. This slow-acting avicide allows for a continuous and higher volume kill, eliminating the avoidance problem associated with fast kill avicides. Starlicide is a restricted use pesticide and restricted to use by certified applicators.
We recommend rotating rodenticides to avoid bait shyness.
- First use Assault® Brand rodenticide for 60 days. This will provide the fastest and largest rat elimination.
- Next use Rat/Mouse Arrest II® for 30 to 60 days to kill Norway rats, roof rats and Warfarin-resistant rodents.
- Then use Rat Control, a specially formulated warfarin base rodenticide, for 30 days.
If necessary, the process may be repeated.
Assault® All Weather Bait will withstand wind, rain and snow. This product is protected by a paraffin base and is best used in shaded areas away from direct sun during the warmer months of the year.

Rat Control Place Packs™
A highly palatable rodent bait in pelleted form packaged in a 4 oz. paper envelope. The active ingredient is micro encapsulated to prevent detection by the rodent. It kills Norway rats, Roof rats, and House mice.
Benefit:
Uses a special Warfarin formulation which is a highly-effective rodenticide and is preferred over other foods. Place Packs in tests were accepted 2 to 1 over competition in similar throw packs. Gives an ongoing control method indoors where rats hide and breed. Comes in a convenient easy to handle 4 ounce size that makes it simple to keep fresh bait available where continuous rat control is needed.
Use:
Determine areas where rats or mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents and/or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain or snow. Remove as much alternative food as possible.
For Rats (Roof and Norway): Apply one to four 4-oz. placepacks per placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days.
For House Mice: Open placepack and apply ¼ to ½ ounce (1-2 level tablespoons) of bait at 8 to 12 foot intervals. Larger placements (up to 2 ounces) may be needed at points of very high mouse activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days.
Rats/Mice: Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Collect and dispose of all dead animals and leftover bait properly. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present establish permanent bait stations and replenish bait as needed.
