ECR Answers Your Questions

Why would my family pet need vitamin supplements?

The goal of vitamin-mineral supplements is to support the maintenance of normal biological structure and function. Given daily, a high-quality supplement such as Pet-Tabs® helps pets lead healthy, happy and energetic lives.

We have dogs and I don’t want them finding poisoned rats. Does ECR have a product that is safe to use around pets?

Yes, Assault® Brand Rodenticides are safe to use around pets because there is no pass-through poisoning, there is no secondary toxicity to harm a dog that may eat a poisoned rodent.

How is Assault® different from an anticoagulant?

Assault® is a neurotoxin, which acts on the brain for a quick kill. Rodents that ingest an anticoagulant are killed by internal bleeding.

Starlings are a major problem for our cattle operation. How do I get rid of them?

Starlicide Complete® is very effective in killing starlings and blackbirds. This slow-acting avicide allows for a continuous and higher volume kill, eliminating the avoidance problem associated with fast kill avicides. Starlicide is a restricted use pesticide and restricted to use by certified applicators.

I have an on-going problem with rat control. What do you suggest?

We recommend rotating rodenticides to avoid bait shyness.

  1. First use Assault® Brand rodenticide for 60 days. This will provide the fastest and largest rat elimination.
  2. Next use Rat/Mouse Arrest II® for 30 to 60 days to kill Norway rats, roof rats and Warfarin-resistant rodents.
  3. Then use Rat Control, a specially formulated warfarin base rodenticide, for 30 days.

If necessary, the process may be repeated.

What do you mean by “All Weather Bait?”

Assault® All Weather Bait will withstand wind, rain and snow. This product is protected by a paraffin base and is best used in shaded areas away from direct sun during the warmer months of the year.

I need a good general insecticide for use in a cattle self-oiler or a backrubber.

Hard Hitter 5.7%,used in a self-oiler or backrubber, is a concentrated, long lasting, on-animal insecticide that provides residual killing of flies, ticks, lice, mange and mosquitoes for up to 35 days.

What is the active ingredient in Hard Hitter?

The active ingredient in Hard Hitter 5.7% is permethrin.
